I am a third-generation resident of the San Dieguito area. I grew up in Del Mar, attended high school in Hawaii and returned to California in 1976. My husband Don & I have been married for 31 years and lived in Solana Beach before moving to Cardiff-by-the-Sea in 1994.

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mount St. Mary’s College in Los Angeles.

In 2003, I retired after working for 25 years at the Del Mar Fairgrounds/San Diego County Fair where I was the Exhibit and Education Supervisor.

I was elected to the Encinitas City Council in November 2006.

Community service is a family tradition I am proud to continue. My father, Bill Arballo was active in the incorporation of Del Mar and was its third mayor. He was also active in the effort to stop the widening of Hwy 101 that would have destroyed the beach communities from Leucadia to Del Mar.

I believe we must strive to sustain our five communities’ unique and varied character through fair and equitable implementation of the general plan, fiscal prudence, and environmental stewardship, with respect to all members of the community.

I represent the city of Encinitas on a number of regional boards including:

• San Elijo Wastewater Treatment JPA - Board member
• San Diego Associations of Governments - Board Alternate
• League of California Cities, Community Service Policy Committee member

Unrelated to my position as a city councilmember, I also serve on the boards of:
• County Fish & Wildlife Advisory Commission
• Full Access and Coordinated Transit - FACT
FACT is a non-profit corporation committed to promoting transportation services for all residents of San Diego County and especially for seniors, people with disabilities and individuals with low income
